190122 - MN
Same trip as yesterday. This
time there is seven plus the shuttle driver going up.
As soon as we get
on the freeway there is a back up, the traffic signs had been warning of it
when I came to work. Turns out a truck had crashed in the oncoming lane before
7 in the morning, over two hours later it is still there.
Traffic
website said 1 person was injured. When we went past, the cab housing was
loaded on one truck, the wheels on another, the box in the ditch and no sign of
the engine or related parts.
Quite ride again. It seems it is quieter
the more people in the van. We stopped at Culver's in Alex again for break.
This time I got wild rice soup ... and cheese curds. Should have skipped the
cheese curds. Two or three are good ... a whole order of cheese just sits in my
system.
We were running about 45 minutes later than yesterday by the
time we got there so someone was standing there with our paperwork. No wait for
us. I kind of waited of one of the newer guys to make sure he got out of there
without issues. Then let him lead.
I was running at or under 55 so he
left me. He had said he was going to stop an hour down the road for coffee but
I didn't see him when I passed. Instead he was at the truck-stop I said I was
going to eat at so we ate together.
The truckstop in Rothsay is changing
from a Tesoro to ... Arco?
I still wasn't hungry so I just had more
soup. Tomato this time. Came to under $5, I didn't look at the receipt or I
would have paid cash.
Later before we got to the fueling station a
couple of 'check engine' lights came on. They were yellow so I didn't stop
until I was to the station. Once I got to the pump, I shut off the battery to
do a computer re-set. It took about a half hour to fuel tonight. Got in over
100 gallons of CNG. Ended up calling the after-hours dispatch who gave me the
OK to continue.
Made it to the lot about an hour later that last night.
Lot is getting full ... of cars. Lots of drivers out.
No work Wednesday,
I have a dentist appointment. The down sides of working over the road and
having appointments. I end up taking a lot more days off than just the date of
the appointment. |
