Once we were on our way home Friday, I called and got work for today.

Just a local trip, shuttle ride 300 miles, drive 300 miles.

Pulled out of our office at 9 AM. Six drivers going up today, two will head out from the customer, the other four of us will bring our buses back for other drivers to leave out of the lot with sometime in the next day or two.

After a couple of hours riding we stop at Alex for a rest stop. Some of us go to Culvers, the rest go to the Holiday gas station. I'm one of those that goes to Culver's. I get the chicken tenders, never had them before. They're good.

Once at the customer, someone gives us our paperwork, we find our buses. Do our inspections and leave. Most of the drivers do not run together after they have done the run a couple of times. The shuttle driver is supposed to follow the last bus back in case someone breaks down. I usually don't see them again.

I like to eat on somewhat of a schedule, so I stop as close to 5 pm as there is food. Today that is at 4:30 in Fergus Falls at the Big Chief. I order a bowl of chili, double cheese. It is bison chili and it is a little hot for me, so I've found if I have double cheese on it, it is pretty good.

St Micheal is where we are supposed to fuel the buses before we get back to the lot. No CNG today so we didn't have to fuel them. Sometimes we have had to find somewhere else but not tonight.

Run into one of the drivers I had helped a month or two ago. He thanked me a few times for telling him/showing him ... just take it slow, take a break, don't get stressed out. (He'd stopped and eaten somewhere else tonight, most drivers don't.)
Got back about 8:30.

Will do the same thing tomorrow. The four that came back will be going back up again.

YAHOO!!!

Finally got paid for the TX trip where I was broke down for 14 days ... took over a month to get paid, but it was worth the wait. Got paid a less for fuel than I was expecting but still more than I spent.
