CROOCKSTON INN
This is 'my place' in
this town. Most of my co-workers prefer one of the other two locations. I have
likely stayed here at least a dozen times in as many years. The 'Crookson
Inn' is at least the third name it has had during that time. I stayed here a
few months ago and it was the 'Best Value.' Before that it had been the Red
(something) for a number of years. This is June 2013 and it sounds like
this place just became the Crookston Inn a couple of months ago. Now they are
working on re-furbishing the motel. The restaurant is also still under
re-construction. Right now the place meets my basics of clean, warm/cool
and (almost) quiet. I did ask the ? owner-manager the next morning if I would
still be able to afford the place when they were done. They said the price
shouldn't' change
much. The room
in process. The bed,
bedding, pillows would match a Holiday Inn, the rest of my room had not been
re-done. The (almost) quiet comment was in regards to the train that went
through at 7AM blowing it's horn. I was on the side by the tracks and about a
block from the tracks. About half the rooms face the pool and the other half
either face the Hwy 2 or the tracks. |
