190128 - MN
Didn't find anything on the load board to our liking so we are still at home.

Plan was that we were to stop at the clinic before leaving town, so once we waited until Monday we had to wait until they were open ... and wait until after rush hour ... and neither of us slept well, so we slept in ... and it snowed, a lot.

Shortly after the dispatch opened, there is a truck from OK to CA ... BB had wanted to take the two RV's heading to OK Friday/Saturday but there wasn't enough money in it ... now there would have been, for someone else.

So we finally got out of home about 11 AM, stopped at the clinic. At this point we decide to head to Forest City. We get as far as Owatonna where we stop at Olivia's (the old Happy Chef.) We keep watching the board, they have added nothing today. As we are sitting in our car in the parking lot, we get a call FROM the dispatchers. They still have RV's coming back to MN. We say no and realize that if they are making calls, there is not any new orders/RV's.

By now we are 1/2 way to Forest City so we head south with plans of taking one or two back to MN. But as we do the $ math, the timetable and watch the roads, we finally make a U-turn in Albert lea and head back home. The little we would make is not worth the brownie points we might earn.

We had also talked about just heading south ... in our car. But we would have to drive a day and a half south to get above -0-. Not worth it.

When we get close enough to home we order pizza ... then dispatch puts one on the board to TX. Then from KS to NM.

IF we had gone just about anywhere there had been a 2nd leg. But we were holding out for the southwest and we sit ... and now we will sit two more days as we don't want to do our inspections in sub zero weather ... and nothing new is on the board.

Hope is that after not putting anything on the board for 2-3 days that once they start putting things out there ... they dump ... the dump a whole bunch at one time.

Last year the board got up over 80 for a couple of days, 2017 was closer to -0-.
