2024 10 18 MN We watched the load board all day, there were only 3 RV trips all day, two to Canada and one to TX. And unlike last week, there were also no other trips in our area. Local dispatch did call in the AM wondering if I was interested in a SD trip. I was thinking for today, because that is what I had called about, so I said no. Realizing later that no one was going to get it done today and tomorrow is Saturday. So we could have done it. But we did not call back on it. And mid-day I dropped my paperwork off at the office. None of the dispatchers came out and talked to me today so it was a quick stop. Their landlord has closed his shop and is doing a lot of land scaping so my guess is that they are getting ready to sell. Not sure where that leaves our company. There was only one NJ bus in the lot, no trucks. So we are off until at least Monday and then I have an appointment on Thursday AM so we will be staying really local. Load board US - 113 IA - 0 MN - 0 WI - 8 2024 10 21 MN Spending the night at home Long day of watching the load board. The RV shipper put out 3 RV's all day. The MN dispatcher put out 2 trash trucks. The rental load board didn't have anything in our area. Now we are down to two days. At some point I will call the local dispatcher just so I do something this week. Load board - Monday US - 91 IA - 2/0 MN - 1 WI - 6 Load board - Weekend US - 120 IA - 0 MN - 0 WI - 13 2024 10 22 MN Spending the night at home Spend most of the day hitting refresh on the computer again today. Nothing for RV's until midafternoon. It was one from IA to IA ... then we realized that we could not get it done in one day so no reason to keep watching the load board. About that time the MN dispatcher put out a one day trip. And the rental load board finaly came back on line with two trucks from ND to MN. But unless local dispatch calls with something in the metro for tomorrow, I am done for the week. Appointment Thursday, spending time with family Friday through Sunday and now because we are busy until then, I made an appointment for Monday AM. So now we need to still be in town then also. So we will have almost one week to be gone as BB then has an appointment on the following Monday. AFTER that we have three weeks we can be gone ... so far. Load board US - 129 IA - 2/0 MN - 5 WI - 5 2024 10 23 MN Spending the night at home. Today we were only glancing at the load board and only saw three RV added, two of those were to Canada and are still on the load board. There are now two trash trucks that would work if I was working, so there is work. This afternoon, local dispatch calls to see if I can move a truck 20 miles or so. I can, but BB has other plans for the rest of the day so I will need someone to drive me. After I hang up, I realize that tomorrow afternoon would work better as then BB would not have to drop me off and pick me up, I would have our car to drive to the office. So I call them back. A while later dispatch calls back, they have it covered by another driver. They have a shuttle driver that will be out and about tomorrow but not in a timeframe that would work for me so they found another driver. So still no work for me. Load board US - 148 IA - 3/2 MN - 6 WI - 4 2024 10 27 MN I did get a call from the OTR central dispatch Thursday. I was at an appointment so it went to voicemail but they are still looking for drivers to take chassis to Canada.
