spending the night at home

... written up a few days later ...

I had picked up the car about 10 AM so we had to have it back by 10 AM today. This is different, I was the one dropping it instead of BB.

Lots of paperwork to do for the bus trips. On the Chicago bus they want all the receipts. And we are, or were, still waiting on tolls to come in. By this AM they all do seem to have come in.

And I still needed to finish the paperwork for the NJ bus. I was able to get both done before noon.

Local dispatch had four trucks in the lot when I dropped but they didn't ask when I could work again.

BB hasn't felt well all week so she didn't get her DOT physical done yet.

... after the RV dispatch closed they put out some trips. Two to 1,000 Oaks, no tow. Would have been a nice trip but ...

Other than one night in my own bed, I was gone for over a month. Now we are mostly home for a few days, weeks.

Today is BB's DOT test. Her BP has been good for the last few days. She had even taken it different times during the day to see what time would be best for her appointment. And she hasn't had any caffeine for a few day, low on the salt, etc.

The AM her BP is good. By the time we leave it is up a little.

... first time at the Dr it is way up. It did come down within range by the third try. Both of us have noticed that their machine pumps up so much it hurts before it quits. She keeps saying this is the last year she is going to put herself through the stress and just be done.

Her BP is normally down in the 100's or below so it isn't that it is normally high. Just high because of the stress.

But she passed. And no one waiting at the DMV today so that was a quick visit.

Late yesterday we had talked about lining up work for today but I didn't have a good feeling out doing it.

This AM when we got up I found out that BB had had a rough night and barely slept at all. Not in any condition to drive if we don't need to. So the work we had thought of doing today is all going to be gone by the time we are ready to work.

The one trip that would have worked the best for us and could have been done as a stand alone trip tomorrow is gone before the end of the day. The shipper was 10 minutes from our house and the drop was about five hours away. Over all that would make about a 12 hour day.

No good work showed up on the load board. I had thought of calling local dispatch but didn't and they did not call me. Also thought about driving to local office to pick up my check but that didn't happen either.

Sometime in the afternoon I did get a call from the west coast bus dispatcher. He's looking for drivers but we have appointments coming up so we won't be getting out there for a few weeks. At least he keeps thinking of me :)

Monday - We both watched the load board all day. There were three RV's all day. One to FL, one to NC and one other one.
There also was one pick up in northern MN that could not be picked up until tomorrow. Someone took it before we were ready to.
It's already been over 30 days since BB has driven. If we had gotten something today, we could have taken something up to 1,000 miles. Now that number drops for us to be able to be back on Friday night for Saturday.
The west coast bus dispatcher now has a half dozen trips on the load board, usually he is completely off board.
