1 PU to Shakopee MN (delivered)
... spending the night at home

Nothing showed up on the load board yesterday so we just took the day off and did things around the house that don't seem to get done when we are gone weeks at a time. Not sure what it was but I only spent a couple of hours in the garden and didn't get the yard mowed.

By last night we decided to do the Osseo to Shakopee trip.

So this AM I call when the first dispatcher comes on duty. 7 AM local time. Both the dispatcher and the shipper are on eastern time. Within the hour I got the call back that I had the trip and then received the email. By 8:15 we were rolling.

I had skimmed over the email and paperwork but finally had BB look at it when we were about 10 miles from the shipper. I was supposed to call before pickup. So I pulled off at the next exit and called.

BB did have to stop for the rest room before we got to the shipper so after we are at the exit we stop at the Osseo TA Express. That added a couple of minutes for the shipper to get the truck ready.

??? The truck was listed as ready yesterday some time but today when I get there someone is scrambling to empty out their stuff. It looks like they just started when I pulled in ... or the truck was packed. It took them closer to a half hour to get the stuff and the dirt out of the truck. Dirt, as in shoveling it out of the truck box.

The good news two ways is, this PU has plenty of gas. No extra time spent stopping, and more 'free money' for me. Found out today that if these PU's are on 'E' when we pick them up, someone will pay for the first 8 gallons. At $3-4 that is a bit of money.

Mostly clear sailing the whole 130 miles. A few slow downs for road constructions.

This is the first unit I've driven that came with a warning like this.
"This truck is being tracked by GPS. They (shipper) can look at all data of the vehicle live, include speed and seat belt use."

A little after noon, I am at the drop. I know the routine. The help here is always new, I'm guessing the turn over is a few weeks. So by now I likely know the routine better than some of them.

Once I get delivered and we get all my paperwork sent in, there still is no work for us. But at this point our options are very limited. I have an appointment tomorrow.

There is a deli in the area so we head there. Bo Diddley's. I knew where it was but BB could not find it in Google. It is not a deli, it is listed as a 'sandwich shop.' Food was good. It wasn't until I was taking off the stack of lettuce that I remembered that I need to head to the clinic today. So that was our next stop.

Two things that don't happen every trip to the clinic. First I found someone's key under a chair and then the lab wanted to do more work than I had come in for.

Final stop was to buy some garden seed but even the nursery doesn't sell them in the off season.

Home. Not quite as good money today as the other two days this week but we worked three partial days, local work, and still hit our goal for the week.

Now we have plans for Friday and Saturday. We may find work starting Sunday. If not it will just be Monday, Tues and Weds next week.

Then we have plans again on Thurs, Friday and Saturday. After that ... who knows.
