1 RV to Greenfield WI
(delivered) ... spending the night at home
6:30 alarm, we ran a
little later last night.
Full hot breakfast. We were the only people
down at 7:30. Parking lot looked like half the people had left
already.
I start the day with 7 miles more range than I need (I think.)
But I never ran the mileage.
Close to Madison I saw something on the
highway, right on the dotted line. A wheel barrel. And someone was trying to
back up there pickup and trailer to get back to it. Good luck.
1st stop
is in Oconomowoc at a Mobil for fuel. My range has gone up and down today
depending on going 55 mph in road construction or 65 mph on the open highway. I
decided not to chance it and added a little over one gallon.
2nd stop is
for final fuel. Even after adding a gallon of fuel I still arrive at the
station flat on 'E.' I'm guessing I had a range of about 10 miles
left.
BB's map software said my road was closed. Mine did not say that.
So I fueled where I had planned and yes, the road was closed. Not for roadwork
but for an event. So an extra mile driven on their fuel.
Makes for a
pretty quite road past the drop.
3rd stop was the drop. I've been here
before so I know who I am looking for. I am in and out in 30 minutes with no
damages. No new trips that work for us so we are heading home empty.
4th
stop is another few blocks down the road, Zupas for lunch. We aren't in a rush
and I like soup, so we eat outside there.
5th stop is Lake Mills for
fuel. I thought I had seen really cheap fuel but $2.99 is the cheapest right
now and we are running low on fuel. We never did see any fuel cheaper than that
so not sure what I thought I saw.
6th stop was for Culvers. I was having
a problem staying awake and it was either that or eat a pop tart
:)
Today was pretty un-eventful.
7th and final stop was
home.
Load board US - 325 IA - 172 MN - 12 WI -
7
Nothing new that worked for us today. The shortest trip is Huntley IL
at 350 miles. Someone took the other Greenfield trip this AM.
17 trips
to CA on the load board, another 15 to OR. Lots of work for those that can run
long.
Sometime next week will try to get in another one day
trip.
