This section will show how I go about trying to ID
anyone, but will highlight how to find unknown parents, etc
|

First I go through my list and ID my closest relatives into
four groups. One group for each grandparent. Depending on who you are trying to
find, you may need to go out to your eight great-grandparents. You may also
need to go back to great-grandparents if you do not have enough close
family. |

I normally don't use this much detail when marking up the
page, find something that works for you. |

Note that I only have one triangle. And that person is a
third cousin so at this point I have not ID'ed anyone from my other half of
that family. I will need to keep going out to indentify anyone else from that
branch. |

In my case, my mother had two sets of double cousins. And my
father had at least three places where family from one side married the other
side of his family. On the one hand, it makes it hard to know which side of the
family you want to look at. It also narrows down which part of the family they
are coming from. |
